He also denied that Comey's version of the events of a February 14 meeting, in which Trump said that he "hoped" that the FBI director could let go of an investigation into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

Comey said that Trump asked him specifically whether he could drop the investigation with respect to Flynn, the former national security adviser whom Trump fired for withholding information about his contacts with foreign governments.
"No, I didn't say that, and I didn't say the other", Trump said Friday.
The House intelligence committee sent a letter Friday asking White House counsel Don McGahn whether any tape recordings or memos of Comey's conversations with the president exist now or had existed in the past.
Trump began Friday's press conference by accusing Qatar, a key USA military partner, of funding terrorism "at a very high level", and said solving problems in the tiny Persian Gulf national could be "the beginning of the end of terrorism".
He said that he'd carefully documented his interactions with Trump because he anxious Trump would misrepresent them, and accused the administration of spreading "lies, plain and simple" about the reasons for his firing. I will tell you I didn't say that. "No, I didn't say that".
"It's my judgment that I was sacked because of the Russian Federation investigation", Mr Comey said toward the end of more than two hours of testimony before the Senate intelligence committee.
Trump and his surrogates moved to attack Comey as a "leaker" for the latter's admission that he'd orchestrated the appearance of a New York Times story on memos he'd written following White House meetings.
Dershowitz said it's the president's prerogative to stop the FBI's various investigations.
On the Daily Show, Trevor Noah joked about the closed session that took place a few hours after Comey's testimony and was alluded to throughout the hearing.
Comey said he didn't share the memo to reporters himself for a "variety of reasons", including because he "worried it'd be like feeding seagulls at the beach".
Launching an extraordinary allegation against a key U.S. military partner, Mr Trump derided what he called Qatar's "extremist ideology in terms of funding" terrorist groups, an accusation Qatar has repeatedly and vehemently denied.
