Game-worn Michael Jordan shoes sell for record-breaking price at auction

A pair of Michael Jordan's sneakers sold for $190,372.80 US Sunday morning, smashing a previous auction record for game-worn shoes.

Organizers of the jersey auction say it is a museum quality sports artifact, because the 1984 Olympic games were "the platform through which Jordan would be introduced to basketball fans worldwide".

If you had some spare change laying around, you may have missed a chance to own a rare pair of Air Jordan shoes.

Jordan Brand and Converse are teaming up to release a Jordan Converse Pack later this month; in this Pack is the Converse Fastbreak Mid in a white and Tar Heel blue colorway.

A pair of Michael Jordan's shoes worn during the 1984 Olympics have sold at auction. Jordan scored 20 points in the USA's 96-95 win over Spain in the gold medal game at The Forum, and the sneakers were snagged after the game by a ball-boy. It was also the last time he wore Converse in an official game. Now, they are the most expensive pair of sneakers in the world, as Jordan seemingly dominates every shoe market, from main to secondary to specialty auction.
