E3 2017: The Darwin Project Announced With Gameplay Trailer

During today's Microsoft E3 media briefing, Scavengers Studio revealed that their recently announced battle royale title The Darwin Project is coming to Xbox One. In The Darwin Project the environment is as unsafe as the players themselves. All in all, The Darwin Project is looking like a game of some cheap thrills and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Another, to be detailed at a later time, will allow for livestream spectators to play a role in the game. A progression system gives players a range of tools to unlock, which can ultimately impact the outcome of matches. As civilization prepares for an impending ice age, a twisted new project emerges, half science experiment and half live-entertainment.

The game appears to be an intense online multiplayer shooter, not dissimilar to the likes of Overwatch and Call of Duty, where players must battle both the harsh environment and one another in order to survive a Hunger Games-like challenge. The Darwin Project offers a competitive multiplayer third person survival experience featuring at its core a new gameplay innovation: the manhunt. Each round supports seven players who need to hunt each other down and survive, often employing cunning, guile and strategy to trap opponents, craft tools, and forge alliances in the name of making it out alive.
