Brewers place 2B Villar on 10-day DL with back strain

The Diamondbacks (37-26) came back with two runs in the bottom of the inning and threatened for more.

Brandon Drury hit a two-run homer, and pitcher Zack Godley kept the Milwaukee Brewers off balance as the Arizona Diamondbacks pulled out a 3-2 victory Saturday night.

Lamb's three-run homer to deep right-center tied it in the Arizona half of the first, boosting his major league-leading RBI total to 56.

Rey Fuentes tripled and scored the other run for the Diamondbacks, who had their nine-game home winning streak snapped in an 8-6 loss to the Brewers on Friday.

Andrew Chafin got the last out in the seventh inning and Archie Bradley retired the side in order on seven pitches in the eighth.

Domingo Santana walked to start the Brewers ninth but was thrown out by Chris Iannetta trying to steal second and Rodney earned his 16th save in 19 tries.

Anderson is 2-0 with a 2.00 ERA in three career starts against the D-backs, including a 6-1 win May 27 at Miller Park. Across 248 PAs, Villar has hit a meager.213/.283/.342. "He was really cruise in the sixth but give Drury credit".

Ray (7-3) gave up three hits and won what started as a pitchers' duel with former Diamondback Chase Anderson (5-2).

"It's not something that I want to keep re-aggravating every time I go out there every five days", said Keuchel, who's 9-0 with a 1.67 ERA.

Milwaukee scored three runs in the first inning off Arizona starter Randall Delgado, all on a pair of two-out hits. On the next pitch, Perez homered into the left-field seats that put Milwaukee up 2-0.

Haudricourt added that it appeared to be his back, and noted the team brought a cart out to take him off the field. Then Godley hit a roller to shortstop that allowed Fuentes, who got a late start from third base, to barely beat the throw to the plate. But the call was overturned after a review showed Reyes' hand touching the plate just ahead of catcher Manny Pina's tag, and Arizona cut the lead to 2-1.

NOTES: Arizona 1B Paul Goldschmidt's grand slam was the fourth of his career and his 14th homer of the season.

The first 20,000 got a free Diamondbacks beach towel and it was "Native American Recognition Day".

The Milwaukee Brewers have placed second baseman Jonathan Villar on the 10-day disabled list with a lower back strain. Arizona RHP Zack Greinke was reinstated from the paternity list and RHP Tom Wilhelmsen was designated for assignment, a move that manager Torey Lovullo said was extremely hard to make because of how valuable the 33-year-old has been to the younger Diamondbacks relievers. CF A.J. Pollock (strained right groin) extended his running on Friday and is to run again, making some turns this time, on Saturday.
