This new console can play just about every old SEGA Genesis and Mega Drive original cartridge game.
Also coming this September is the Atari Flashback 8 Classic console, a budget-friendly option that includes 105 games and two wired controllers.
The "Classic Game Console" is similar to the current model, and comes with 81 games. The full list of games can be viewed through the information sheet that AtGames released for the upcoming device. Also The Ultimate Portable Game Player, which includes 85 built-in 16-bit Sega Genesis and Mega Drive classic games.
Retro game purveyor At Games hopes so. Two high performance 2.4ghz wireless controllers, styled after the Atari 2600 originals, are included, as well as two legacy controller ports for optional wired joysticks and paddle controllers.
"Atari is delighted to welcome Activision to the Flashback family", says Fred Chesnais, Chief Executive Officer, Atari. The new consoles - including an Atari portable - will be available later this year. The system will play in 720p HD and come with two wireless controllers (no indication if they're battery operated or rechargeable), along with ports on the front in case you want to hook up your classic controllers, as well as scan line filtering, and a save/pause/rewind feature for every game.
After a blockbuster 2016 debut, the Atari Flashback® Portable Game Player returns in 2017 with an fantastic selection of 70 built-in games, including the legendary BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment arcade hit, PAC-MAN™. Two wired controllers, styled after the Sega Genesis originals, are included, as well as two legacy controller ports to add your own optional wired controllers. This isn't AtGames' first time releasing consoles like this, so we can look to the past to see what kind of price to expect.
