Sara Zelenak Confirmed As Dead In London Bridge Terror Attack

Seven people were killed and 48 injured in the knife and vehicle assault on London Bridge and Borough Market's nearby bars and restaurants.

The Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera said in a report that the Italian intelligence services reported Youssef's movements to their British counterparts. While Redouane was not know to any intelligence communities, many are criticizing British intelligence for not taking the known affiliations of Butt and Zaghba more seriously.

He and Butt lived in Barking in east London.

Around a year and a half ago, Butt's neighbor, Erica Gasparri, contacted the police because she was concerned that he was trying to radicalize local children. "She had room in her heart for everyone and believed strongly that every person was to be valued and respected", Archibald's family said in a statement.

Mohammed Shafiq, chief executive of the Ramadhan Foundation, said that after confronting Anjem Choudary for his support for terrorism near the Houses of Parliament a day after Lee Rigby's killing he was called a "traitor" by the future London attacker, Butt.

Butt was known to police and "openly fundamentalist", NPR's Eleanor Beardsley reports from London.

In fact, Butt was one of the main characters in a television documentary called The Jihadis Next Door.

Police had been searching for Xavier Thomas, a French man who had been missing since three assailants ploughed a rented auto into crowds on London Bridge and attacked people in Borough Hall with knives on Saturday.

London's Metropolitan Police identified one attacker was Khuram Shazad Butt, aged 27.

Mark Rowley, the Metropolitan police assistant commissioner, said the changes could cover police, MI5, communities, technology companies, the law and other policies.

Formal identification of the body has not taken place, but the family of 45-year-old Xavier Thomas has been informed of the discovery.

Italian media identified the third attacker as Youssef Zaghba, the 22-year-old son of Moroccan and Italian parents.

All were arrested in Ilford, east London, one on drugs charges and two on terrorism charges.

Police arrested three men in London Wednesday night in connection with the attack, bringing the total number of people now in police custody to five.

The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for its "fighters" carrying out the attack.

He also used the name Rachid Elkhdar with a different date of birth.

Counter-terror agencies are already facing intense scrutiny after it was revealed Butt had been known to security services.
