Russian Federation calls for dialogue in Qatar crisis

Founded in 1996 as part of Qatar's efforts to turn its economic power into political influence, Al Jazeera won millions of viewers across the Arab world by offering uncensored debate rarely seen on other local broadcasters in the region. News reports indicated that Qatar Airways is increasingly flying over Iran and Turkey.
Iran has urged Qatar and neighbouring Gulf countries to engage in dialogue to resolve their dispute.
Just to recap, on June 5, numerous countries including Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Yemen, Libya's transitional government, the Republic of Maldives and the Republic of Mauritius had severed diplomatic relations with Doha in retaliation for what they described as Qatar's support for terrorism and extremist ideology.
He said Qatar remained committed to a Kuwaiti-led mediation effort, but that he had yet to receive a clear list of demands.
Qatar has said citizens of states that have cut ties with the emirate will be allowed to stay in the country despite measures against its own nationals. Saudi Arabia has also closed its land borders with Qatar, geographically isolating the Gulf state.
Mohammed al-Sada said in a statement: "circumstances in the region shall not prevent the state of Qatar from honouring its global commitment of cutting its oil production".
Qatar Petroleum said it "immediately mobilized all available resources" to mitigate the impact of any action that could hamper its energy supplies to customers around the world.
Despite the unprecedented sanctions, Qatar says that its crucial exports of liquified gas have not been interrupted.
"Qatar Petroleum, and its subsidiaries, wishes to affirm that it is conducting business as usual throughout all its upstream, midstream and downstream businesses and operations, and in all activities across all of QP's world-class facilities", the statement read.
After Mr Trump's remarks, the Pentagon reiterated its position that Qatar was a key U.S. military partner, saying "the evolving situation is hindering our ability to plan for longer-term military operations". "It's a violation of human rights", Al Marri said. Iran also has sent four cargo planes of food to Qatar and plans to provide 100 tons of fruit and vegetable every day, Iranian officials said.
The prestigious USA media outlet adds: "That was before the president, at a news conference on Friday, continued to add fuel to the fire by saying that "the nation of Qatar historically has been a funder of terrorism at a high level", and endorsing the blockade whose easing Secretary of State Rex Tillerson had just called for".
Qatar is home to the largest U.S. airbase in the Middle East, making it a key ally in the US-led coalition against the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria.
While Tillerson and others have called for an easing of tensions, Trump on Friday said Qatar had "historically been a funder of terrorism at a very high level".
Sheikh Khaled said he had explained to Mr Erdogan how Qatar's actions had led to the rift and said Doha should guarantee that it will not continue.
The three Gulf nations said early Sunday that officials would consider "humanitarian cases" as a deadline looms for Qataris to return home.
