Rodriguez headed to disabled list

Evidently, the tumble Eduardo Rodriguez took before his start Thursday night wasn't as innocent as it appeared.

Such is life in the hard-hitting AL East.

On Thursday, the Orioles' bats did most of the damage with four home runs in the 7-5 victory over Boston.

Davis boosted the lead to 3-1 when he led off the fourth with a solo homer to straightaway center.

Baltimore took the first game of the series on Thursday, 7-5. While Baltimore has won three of four on the heels of a season-high seven-game skid, Boston has dropped three of five after posting a campaign-best six-game winning streak. "These games are very important". Porcello fell to 4-9 with a 4.77 ERA in his career versus the Orioles, with a 2-4 mark and a 4.89 ERA at Camden Yards.

"Only when obviously you guys do have to bring it up, and ladies, you have to because it's part of what you do", he said. On Wednesday, Bogaerts put up a hit and a run; Betts whiffed 0-for-3. In all, E-Rod allowed eight hits while striking out six.

"He got up, he finished his warmups, he came out (to start the game)", Farrell said, via the Herald.

"Just felt like he needed to go out there again", Showalter said. He was the first left-handed batter to hit a home run off Rodriguez since July 16, 2016. Most of their offense comes from the long ball. "There's going to be some ebbs and flows to the season".

The left-hander has been placed on the 10-day disabled list with a knee injury. Ross was optioned to Pawtucket on May 18 and did not pitch because of discomfort in his elbow. "Some of that swelling is reducing quite a bit, and the range of motion is starting to get there", manager John Farrell said.

Orioles: INF Ryan Flaherty, who went on the DL on May 19 with a right shoulder strain, should begin throwing next week.

On the other hand, the 28-year-old Workman has made just one relief appearance for the Red Sox this season.
