Passengers on evacuated easyJet flight reported `terrorist content´ conversation

The plane with 151 passengers was evacuated and searched by officials.

The 151 passengers flown safely the Easy Jet Airbus 319 using emergency exits, with police forces conducting security checks on the aircraft and collecting deposits from passengers, the airport authorities said in a statement.

A spokesman for Cologne-Bonn airport said: "A plane on the way from Ljubljana to London has landed (Saturday) evening around 6.30pm in Cologne unplanned".

The diversion created a three-hour delay with 10 flights sent to other airports.

German police said passengers reported the men had been having a discussion that included "terrorist content".

"easyJet can confirm that flight EZY3246 from Ljubljana to London Stansted diverted to Cologne today".

Federal police forces seized a backpack belonging to one of the men and proceeded to a controlled explosion outside the plane, the police said.

"The captain took the decision as a precaution to enable the aircraft to go through additional security checks in Cologne where the aircraft was met by the police".

A passenger on board the flight told Sky News the crew told them the plane was being diverting for "operational reasons".

"We plan to operate the flight tomorrow morning and so are providing all passengers with hotel accommodation and refreshments along with regular updates", easyJet said. Other passengers were also being questioned, police said.
