Lonzo Ball didn't blow away Lakers in workout

There is no consensus among the Lakers' higher-ups yet as to who the pick will be, and Ding notes it will be hard for players to stand out in one-on-none workout situations due to the lack of opposition.

Lonzo Ball did not blow the Los Angeles Lakers away during their time with him on Tuesday and Wednesday where they've locked in on him at No. 2, according to sources. In a way, this just feels like a smokescreen put out there by the Lakers to temper their obvious infatuation with Ball. They are still interested in him as a prospect, but there's no guarantee he goes second overall. You think I'm playing. Lonzo is an excellent prospect and the most logical pick.

There remain signs that Lonzo Ball to the Los Angeles Lakers is not quite the slam dunk some make it out to be. I know he can shoot. However if the Lakers really aren't all that impressed with Ball, maybe he falls to the Philadelphia 76ers at No. 3, the Phoenix Suns at No. 4 or even the Sacramento Kings at No. 5? Regarding his widely criticized on-air comments to FS1's Kristine Leahy in May, when he told her to "stay in your lane", Ball said, "I don't regret anything I say ... never".

"I told my wife, 'I been with you so long, you can have one eye drooped and your mouth over here like this and you're still lovely to me".

Getting back to his family, Ball also claimed that just as Lonzo played a single season in college before turning pro, "All my boys are gonna be one-and-done".

I'm going to do the same thing with Melo.

After all, you know Ball's father likes to boast and talk a big game, so it would be fun to see how he responds to a piece of humble pie.

Naturally someone is going to have a favorite player in this draft who will still be on the board at No. 2. Now we can get another 25 years having a good time.
