Kane may even be made skipper for the Scotland clash by boss Gareth Southgate.
The 23-year-old was awarded the Golden Boot for the second successive season, after scoring 29 goals Premier League goals during the 2016-17 campaign.
Injuries mean Kane has not played for England since the 1-0 win in Slovakia last September that was to prove the one and only game of Sam Allardyce's ill-fated reign as manager. People have said there's a lack of leaders but I don't see that to be the case.
"I felt in the couple of seasons before that I didn't do it as well".
"I think his form towards the end of the season was one of the best players in the world and he's still only 23, so he's still young and I'm sure he's still got a lot of learning to do".
"But a couple of the others have done it already and I wanted to give him that boost for tomorrow's game".
"He was pretty chuffed (when told)".
Lloris, who has witnessed Kane develop from a youngster on the Spurs fringes into arguably one of the best strikers in World football, was full of praise for his team-mate.
However, Gordon, coming off a treble-winning season with Celtic who could have as many as six players in the side, is aware that Scotland must keep clam heads in what is sure to be a cauldron, with the home team needing a positive result to keep qualification hopes alive. "We feel like we are as ready as ever and we're looking for three points to finish off our season nicely".
"We know his mentality, we know he wants to be one of the best in the world".
"I'd do whatever I can to win that big gold trophy".
"For me, I don't think it would (be too early), but that is a matter of opinion really". There's room for improvement for all of them which is exciting because they've got a hunger and a desire. "We represent our country, but so do they and they have to do it in the right way".
Adam Lallana was another name in the frame for the armband, but he is pleased to see Kane given the opportunity. Lukaku's a fantastic player. I think at club level I've had a good few seasons, but now it's about taking that next step, global football in the big games, in the big moments.
