Congress MP from Telangana dies in Himachal

He advised the state Chief Secretary and concerned authorities to make all necessary arrangement for bringing Palvai's body back to Hyderabad from Himachal Pradesh.
He had taken an early morning flight to Kullu from Delhi. He became Rajya Sabha member from undivided AP in April 2012. Palvai Reddy is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
Mr Reddy, who hailed from Telangana, was in Kullu Manali to attend a Parliamentary committee meeting. From Delhi, the mortal remains of Reddy would be flown into Hyderabad around mid night, TPCC President Uttam Kumar Reddy went to Delhi to bring the mortal remains of Govardhan Reddy.
Congress MP KVP Ramachandra Rao said he lost a very good friend, while the party's Rajya Sabha member Rapolu Anand Bhaskar said Reddy was like a "link between Pandit Nehru's generation and the youth of the country". Reddy's body was flown to his official residence in Delhi where former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, AICC Vice-president Rahul Gandhi and other senior Congress leaders including AK Antony, N D Tiwari paid their respects.
His contribution towards welfare of the people of his state and to the Congress was huge, he said.
Reddy was representing Telangana in the Rajya Sabha since 2014 and served as a state minister twice during the 1980s. He is now the Rajya Sabha MP from Congress.
Congress's Mohammed Ali Shabbir, the Leader of the Opposition in the Telangana Legislative Council, said Reddy was a seasoned parliamentarian.
Recalling his long association with the departed leader, TRS senior leader and Rajya Sabha Member, K Kesava Rao, said he was a kind person who fought for a separate Telangana state right from his student days.
