AC Milan still interested in Manchester United target Morata

Later in June 2016, Real Madrid exercised on a buy-back clause to bring Morata back from Juventus for around $34 million.

He is understood to have informed Madrid's general director, Jose Angel Sanchez, that the player who scored 20 goals in all competitions last season has chose to leave the club in search of regular first-team football.

Speaking afterwards, Morata says he hopes to play alongside James once more in 2017-18 and suggested that he would like them both to stay with the European champions.

Given that just last summer Morata moved for £30m, is he actually worth the more than double valuation being placed on his head in Madrid?

Ready to move to Manchester United? Despite starting less, Morata was Real Madrid's second-highest goal scorer only behind Cristiano Ronaldo.

Signing a forward has been a priority for Jose Mourinho this summer, especially after it was officially announced that the club wouldn't be keeping Zlatan Ibrahimovic on next season.

It was originally believed that Ibrahimovic would sign a new deal at Old Trafford, with the 35-year-old's agent, Mino Raiola, claiming that the former Sweden captain wanted to remain in Manchester, despite his injury.

Alvaro Morata has agreed personal terms with Manchester United and the Red Devils are in talks with Real Madrid to wrap-up a potential £60m deal for the striker, according to the Telegraph.

Despite getting only 14 starts, Morata recorded 15 goals which goes to show the kind of power he commands in the attack.

"At a big club you are going to attract big players and that's what we want", he told Sky Sports. Crucially, though, his final decision is likely to be heavily influenced by how successful United are at landing Morata and/or Belotti. I do not know (if he will have another season at Madrid).
