ABC Scores Huge NBA Finals Ratings with Possible Sweep Looming

Unlike in the first two games at Oracle Arena, Cleveland hung in there with Golden State and even led for a good portion of the second half, but it wasn't because of defense.

The Cavaliers had 86 points at halftime and led by 24 during a physical and at times poorly officiated game while handing the Warriors their first loss of the postseason.

Cleveland, of course, won Game 7 at Golden State a year ago; the Warriors won the crown in Game 6 at Cleveland in 2015.

Golden State never recovered. You can also download the WatchESPN app to watch what could be the last game of the 2017 NBA Finals on mobile devices.

Scoring records were a common occurrence for the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, and Deron Williams added to the list with the team's 19th 3-pointer in the third quarter to set a Finals record.

CLEVELAND- LeBron James set a new NBA Finals record for triple-doubles Friday night. "We played well there before, so if we have the same approach that we had tonight ... then we have great chances".

"There's no tomorrow. So we just have to play", Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue said.

"When I left here to go to Miami, we had to build something", James said.

"You hear some chatter going on throughout the Warriors locker room in terms of them trying to end it here, and it was another do-or-die game for us, and we had to leave it all out there", Irving said. This time, however, the Cavs fell into a 3-0 hole and it was worth wondering if they were just going to fold up the tent in Game 4.

Along with Curry, Thompson and Green, he has helped the Warriors to 15 straight postseason wins and a 3-0 series lead, a deficit no team has overcome in 126 prior playoff occurrences.

As the final seconds ticked off, Cleveland fans chanted "Cavs in 7". "We're going to keep fighting". Golden State didn't score a single point in transition in the first half.

Kerr and the rest of the Golden State hierarchy knew exactly what they were getting after that successful pitch to then-free agent Durant in the Hamptons last July.

The Warriors spent much of the week listening to former players, coaches and executives weigh in on where this team fits among the all-time great squads.

Durant finished with 35 points, while Steph Curry settled for only 14 making just 4 of 13 from the field.

Points Kevin Durant scored in the fourth quarters of this year's Finals, one fewer than the combined tally of the Cavaliers' Big Three - LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love. He has earned the trophy coming his way, and if he has one more strong night in Game 4 he will get that trophy Friday night.

Steve Kerr hasn't talked to any of the old-timers who say their teams would have beaten his Golden State Warriors.

Later, Warriors center Zaza Pachulia was involved in a pileup of players in the foul lane and he delivered two swipes to Iman Shumpert's groin area as the referees tried to get control.

"They brought a lot of force and we weren't ready for it", Kerr said.

With their crowd hanging on every dribble, pass and shot, the Cavaliers came out flying.

"I don't think that our careers are the same as far as changing teams", James said when asked about Durant's team switch. Durant had 22 to lead Golden State.

Barring a collapse of epic proportions, the forward will finally become an National Basketball Association champion in the coming days.
