Warriors coach compares Durant-Curry pairing with another dynamic duo

Lopsided home triumphs over the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers gave Golden State a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series and a 14-0 post-season record, the longest win streak in National Basketball Association playoff history.

When he joined the record-breaking Golden State Warriors, who came within seconds of winning back-to-back titles, he took a great deal of grief from National Basketball Association legends and fans alike.

Cleveland had looked like they might prevail when they were ahead by six points with three minutes to play but Kevin Durant led the Warriors on an impressive 11-0 run to close out the game.

Golden State improved to 14-0 this postseason to keep alive a chance of becoming the first group to go unbeaten all the way to a title.

Klay Thompson shook off a shooting slump to score 22 points and the Warriors pulled away late for another lopsided win.

Playing in his first NBA Finals, the Cavaliers' sharpshooter has struggled with his shot through the first two games, going 2 of 7 from the field - 1 of 6 3-pointers.

"So to slow up the pace would be changing who we are".

No team has ever overcome a 3-0 deficit, and it doesn't appear any team is equipped to hang with these Warriors, who may go down as one of the best ever. "So just the way he played on the defensive end, the way he played on the offensive end, he's been doing it all playoffs long, but in these Finals, he's really picked it up, and it's been huge for us".

"We have an opportunity to protect home and if we do that, we'll put ourselves back in the series", James said.

"Obviously K.D. made some huge plays down the stretch", said Warriors head coach Steve Kerr. However, ABC's Doris Burke reported that James briefly talked to Cleveland's medical staff and then waved them off, immediately scoring a layup after staying in the game. Broke the record of 14 straight postseason wins previously held by the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins, who did it in 1992-93.

James has been playing at a ridiculously high level in the NBA Finals.

"Do I look exhausted?"

A victory would also be the Warriors' 30th in their last 31 games, dating to the regular season.

"When you watch it, it doesn't necessarily seem as bad because you understand that the things that you can't control", he said. Once inside, some fans launched jump shots on outdoor courts while others positioned themselves for prime seats to watch the game on a giant screen.
