Vladimir Putin has denied interfering in the USA presidential election as he counter argued that it was actually American officials who were the ones trying to influence other countries' electoral processes.
There is no "direct" proof that Russian Federation interfered in last year's US presidential election, President Vladimir Putin said Monday.
USA intelligence agencies have concluded that Russian Federation meddled in the presidential election.
Mr Trump himself has been dogged by questions about any business dealings with Russia as well as reports of a Russian dossier of damaging personal information. The former Fox News anchor's questions would have been explosive had Putin answered any of them with a "yes", but unsurprisingly, he did not confess to rigging the USA election or having video of our president enjoying the defilement of a Moscow hotel bed. Putin - who once worked as a KGB recruiter - replied: "Well, this is just another load of nonsense". "I don't know. The routine job of an ambassador ― do you think that from all over the world, or from the United States, the ambassador reports to me every day who he meets with or what they discuss there?"
Putin also told NBC he had no relationship with Trump, despite Trump's previous travel to Russian Federation as a businessman.
He said he never met Trump on any of his trips to Moscow. "You and I met yesterday evening".
WASHINGTON (AP) - President Donald Trump will not assert executive privilege to block fired FBI Director James Comey from testifying on Capitol Hill, the White House said Monday, setting the stage for a dramatic public airing of the former top law enforcement official's dealings with the commander in chief.
Before taping the interview on Friday, Kelly had moderated a panel at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, to which Putin also contributed. "There was not even a specific discussion of sanctions or something else", Putin said.
A widely circulated December 2015 photo shows the Putin and Flynn sitting next to each other at the dinner celebrating Russian TV network RT.
"And they aren't analyzing the information in its entirety", he said.
Mr Putin also told NBC that regardless of Mr Trump's previous travel to Russian Federation as a businessman, he had had no relationship with him and had never met him. Putin asked, before saying: "Have you all lost your senses?"
As far as the findings of US intelligence agencies, Putin said, "They have been misled".
"I made my speech, then we talked about some other stuff, and I got up and left. There's nothing to even talk about".
But a former US ambassador to Moscow said Russia's courting of Flynn was likely not a coincidence, since he was working with the Trump campaign when RT paid for his presence. In no uncertain terms, Putin dismissed the entire Trump-Russia narrative as empty sensationalism.
Did Jared Kushner try to establish a secret back channel to the Russian government?
He said if there had been anything interesting to come out of the meeting, his foreign minister would have reported it to him. A picture of the two men was widely circulated after President Trump appointed Flynn as his adviser, and fueled speculation about Trump's ties to Russian Federation.
"That sums up my entire acquaintance with Mr. Flynn", he concluded.
PUTIN: There's a theory that Kennedy's assassination was arranged by the United State intelligence services.
When the Senate intelligence committee in May demanded that Mr Flynn provide a list of any contacts with Russian officials during the presidential campaign and transition, Mr Flynn invoked his constitutional right against self-incrimination and refused.
