No questioning Durant's decision now as Warriors near title

Now James finds himself in the same situation that much of the league was in when he was in Miami with two other Hall of Famers in their prime in Wade and Bosh in feeling behind the eight ball because Golden State is set up for long-term success.

And although he's on the cusp of being swept in the Finals - for the second time - by a team unequalled in today's game, James isn't envious of the Warriors for building a super power in sneakers.

Kevin Durant scored 31 points while Klay Thompson added 30 and Stephen Curry contributed 28 as the Warriors rallied on Wednesday to beat the Cavaliers 118-113 and seize a 3-0 lead in their best-of-7 championship showdown.

How will we look at this specific team, say, five years from now? I mean, like ALL TIME ALL TIME? Now with a championship in his grasp as the likely Finals MVP, he's cementing his place among the league's all-time greats. "Right now, look at our TV ratings, look at the money our league is pouring in", he said.

"I've been working on that shot my whole life", said Durant, who has averaged 34 points through the first three games of the series.

James left the Cavs in 2010 to join the Heat where they built a super team in Miami with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh that went on to win 4 consecutive Eastern Conference titles and back-to-back National Basketball Association championships in 2012-2013 before James made a decision to return to Cleveland in 2014. James doesn't begrudge the Warriors, he even pointed out the National Basketball Association isn't the only league where dynasties have been built by owners throwing around money.

LeBron James talks after an exhausting Game 3 in The Finals. And I don't recall anyone accusing the Indians of unfairly stacking the deck, or somehow implying they were soft for losing last year and improving this year, or castigating Encarnacion for ring-chasing by leaving Toronto for Cleveland. It's sports. You have an opportunity to sign one of the best players, and you can do it, go ahead and do it. "Why not? If I become an owner, I'm going to try to sign everybody", James said.

I'm convinced that if Leonard was healthy, that series would have gone at least six games. The Warriors outscored the Cavs 11-0 down the stretch to run their postseason record to 15-0, and there's no reason to believe they won't close out the series on Friday night.

Durant lost to James and the Miami Heat when he was with the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2012 Finals, and didn't make it back until this year.

"I didn't envision anything but just being around good people and getting better every single day". So like I said, there have been times throughout my career where I just played teams that were just in the midst of something that can last for a long time. Both teams felt the pain of losing big leads previous year.

"I'm not one to judge and say if it's fair or not if guys are adding players to their team". Game 3 of the NBA Finals felt like one because of the way it ended, the fast-furious run of 11 points after J.R.'s three.

"I don't want to relax", Durant said. He's shooting 55 percent from the field and 38 percent from behind the arc, numbers that should and in nearly any other circumstances would have him on his way to cementing his legacy as the best player of all time with yet another championship.

And James has once again been criticized for not being more aggressive late in Game 3, when he made a pass to Kyle Korver.

Prior to Game 3, the Warriors were 2-0 this postseason in games decided by 10 points or fewer.

Kevin Durant released his deep shot, the one he always makes in his dreams. If you were in his shoes, a lot of you would have done the same exact thing.
