Golden State Warriors get past Cleveland Cavaliers again in NBA Finals

The Warriors are making it rain in Cleveland.

LeBron James muscled his way into the paint to score 39 points with 11 rebounds and nine assists. Not after getting this close, not after enduring so much criticism for leaving Oklahoma City and not with a chance to put the Cavaliers in an insurmountable hole.

Irving scored 16 points in the third quarter, going 7 for 10 from the floor on an assortment of his usual crafty drives into the lane that resulted in one contested layup after another.

And in Game 3, no one gave more support for James than Irving. The great shooting has helped Golden State absorb quite a punch from LeBron James in the opening 12 minutes. J.R. Smith scored 16 points, knocking down five of his 10 three-point attempts after going 1-4 from deep in the first two games. They got better. They haven't lost a playoff game. "Game 3 in Portland they punched us".

LeBron James is off to a fast start as well, which is nothing new.

James was knocked flat in the first quarter, when he accidentally got blasted in the chin by teammate Tristan Thompson's shoulder.

Game 3 of the NBA Finals is underway and there are no surprises. His 39 points led all scorers, and he was one assist away from a triple-double.

"I thought our team scrapped and competed", Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue said.

Durant and his fellow Christian Stephen Curry are leading the Warriors team in this year's NBA Playoffs. No team has blown a 3-0 lead in the National Basketball Association.

But there are a few celebrities in the building, including Usher and the Rev. Jesse Jackson.

Well, there he was Wednesday night, rising up and taking down the defending champs. Curry and Kerr walked through security and were immediately greeted by retired pro wrestler Ric Flair, best known as "The Nature Boy.". He came in carrying a broom and exchanged some words with one fan who wasn't happy about his brash gesture.

A victory in Game 3 of the NBA Finals would be the Warriors' 15th straight in the postseason and give them the longest winning streak in the major professional sports. Golden State was down by six with three minutes left.

A victory would also be the Warriors' 30th in their last 31 games, dating to the regular season.

The Cavaliers will play for their post-season hopes on Saturday (AEST), when they face the Warriors in game four of the finals.

"It's the Finals", Irvin said. "I definitely learned a lot from him as far as his base of his jump shot, his balance in the pick-and-roll, his ball handling, just all the skills that you see within the player". "You know, it's a rhythm thing".

Chicago's 87-13 mark in the 1995-96 season can not be topped this year.

Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the 1980s or Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal in the early 00s for the Los Angeles Lakers, and even 1990s Chicago's tandem of Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen - these stellar pairings have nothing on Golden State's dynamic duo.

Kevin Durant and his Golden State Warriors moved one game closer to winning the 2017 National Basketball Association title with Wednesday's victory in Cleveland.

The Warriors trailed by six with three minutes left before Durant, who signed with Golden State last summer to win a championship, brought them back, scoring 14 in the fourth.

And, moreover, silencing Quicken Loans Arena.
