The biggest diplomatic crisis in the Persian Gulf since the 1991 US-led war against Iraq pits several nations against Qatar, which is home to some 10,000 American troops and a major United States military base.
The United Arab Emirates' Justice Ministry is warning social media users that they can face prison time and fines for offering sympathy for Qatar amid a growing diplomatic crisis in the Middle East.
They cite Qatar's willingness to host exiled religious and political leaders from Egypt, including members of the Muslim Brotherhood. Development does not begin in earnest until the end of World War II. The Arab countries have blocked Qatari vessels from entering their airspace, as well as using their seaports, and Saudi Arabia has closed off its land border.
There was no immediate response for a request for comment on that demand from a Qatari official.
Gargash said Qatar "absolutely" should expel members of Hamas, stop its support of terror groups "with al-Qaida DNA" around the world and rein in the many media outlets it funds, chief among them the Doha-based satellite news network Al-Jazeera.
It said hackers installed a file and then published a fake news item attributed to Qatar's emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, just after midnight May 24.
Still, the minister struck a defiant tone, rejecting those "trying to impose their will on Qatar or intervene in its internal affairs".
Kuwait's ruler, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber al-Sabah, travelled from the UAE to Qatar on Wednesday after visiting Saudi Arabia the day before to try to resolve the crisis.
The four countries have suspended all flights to and from Qatar, pulled their ambassadors from Doha and ordered Qatari diplomats to leave.
Sheikh Sabah also has traveled to Saudi Arabia in his efforts. Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello said the ban took effect Tuesday, but there is no plan yet to repatriate the more than 200,000 Filipino workers in Qatar.
According to the expert, the current tensions between Qatar and Saudi Arabia are strategic, and the sides need a compromise on the issue.
Saudi Arabia, the U.A.E., Egypt and Bahrain have said Qatari carriers can't fly over their territories.
Newspapers and television channels in the region have also been engaged in a war of words over Qatar's role.
The United Arab Emirates, along with several other powerful Arab states, severed diplomatic ties with fellow Gulf state Qatar on Monday over its alleged support for Islamist groups and Iran. Qatar denies supporting extremism.
The Gulf countries ordered their citizens out of Qatar and gave Qataris overseas 14 days to return home to their peninsular nation, whose only land border is with Saudi Arabia.
US officials who monitor terrorist funding have said that Persian Gulf governments have made significant strides in ending official support for terrorist groups, although some money still flows from individuals, primarily in Kuwait and to a lesser extent from Qatar. Bahrain and Egypt cut all diplomatic ties with Qatar.
The council includes Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman and Kuwait.
Saudi Arabia meanwhile said it will revoke Qatar Airways' operating licences and close the airline's offices in the kingdom within 48 hours. Moscow said the report was false.
"The Embassy of India is monitoring the situation closely and is in touch with Qatari authorities to ensure the safety and security of Indian nationals in Qatar", it said.
Flights were delayed at Qatar's Hamad International Airport, which serves as a major transit hub for 37 million passengers a year, largely between Europe and Asia.
Maersk, the world's biggest container shipping line, said it was unable to transport goods in or out of Qatar because it could not take them through the UAE port of Jebel Ali.
