Nyong'o also gave rave reviews to the film's director, Patty Jenkins, for "not playing around" and labelled actor Chris Pine, who plays air force Captain Steve Trevor as "irresistible".

That total was also almost matched by the other ten Asian markets, where the film combined for $34.1 million and swept the No. 1 spots. Rabid DC and Marvel fans may have a very competitive nature, however the stars and the different members of both studios show nothing but support for each other.

The box office reporting site revealed on Sunday its estimations for the film's first-weekend profits, pegging the domestic total at just more than $100.5 million and the worldwide total around $122.5 million. Not just in India, the movie was ranked number 3 on the United States BO right behind Vin Diesel's Fast and Furious 8 and Salma Hayek's How to be a Latin Love.
Internationally, the movie brought in $122.5 million, boosting its global haul to $223 million after just one weekend.
On the heels of the film's $103.1 million opening weekend, Entertainment Weekly recently shared Jenkins' thoughts on a sequel for the heroic Gal Gadot vehicle, taken from an April interview.
So successful was Wonder Woman in her first weekend that she managed to best a few notable male superheroes.
Warner Bros. revised revised the film's weekend estimate up to $103.1 million USA from its earlier figure of $100.5 million US. Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman movie is already breaking box office records around the world.
And she had the biggest box office weekend!
Jenkins had previously directed 2003 feature Monster, which she also wrote.
Wonder Woman is in theaters now! "I think the result of this movie is going to really define what the future of Wonder Woman is in the movies".
