Mark Zuckerberg chokes up while speaking about an undocumented student

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Thursday returned to the Harvard University amid rainy skies to present a commencement speech at the university's 366th Commencement ceremony and collect his degree after over a decade of dropping out from the college. Gates, too, received an honorary degree from Harvard when he gave the commencement speech in 2007. "In order for our society to move forward, we must face the challenge of our generation - not only to create new jobs but also to create new purposes, ", said Mark Zuckerberg to the graduates and their parents.

"We should have a society that measures progress not just by economic metrics like GDP, but by how many of us have a role we find meaningful", Zuckerberg said. Zuckerberg said that if he finished the speech it would be the first thing that he'd ever finished at Harvard.

On Wednesday, Zuckerberg made a 24-minutes long Facebook Live video from his Harvard dorm room when he went back there.

Ostensibly on campus to pick up an honorary degree the speech will fuel speculation that Zuckerberg is considering making a move from business to politics, potentially with a bid for the United States presidency.

After narrating the story, Zuckerberg reminded the students who will soon be graduated, that even they will be kicked out soon, so it is a great time to ask someone for a date without waiting around.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg finally has that Harvard diploma he missed out on when he instead chose to work on a rival to Myspace, Bebo and Friendster back in 2004. Stress felt by many American communities will increase as tens of millions of jobs are replaced by automation, such as self-driving cars and trucks, Zuckerberg said.

Goal is that sense that we are part of something bigger than ourselves, that we are needed, that we have something better ahead to work for.

But, this need to be fortunate might be what is preventing the millennial generation from finding its objective, according to Zuckerberg. His wife Priscilla Chan and the class of 2017 listened in the rain as Zuckerberg delivered his message - if you create opportunities, you create goal.

I had just launched this prank website Facemash, and the ad board wanted to "see me".

"There's pressure to turn inwards", he said about those that feel left behind by increased globalisation.
