Costa claims Conte no longer wants him at Chelsea

Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci is still a target for Antonio Conte at Chelsea and a £48m offer will be tabled this summer, a report claims.

The Italian tactician isn't prepared to rest on his laurels after his side's title-winning success last term and wants a squad capable of competing in the Champions League next season.

'I'm going to be honest, the other day, Conte sent me a message saying I am not in his plans for Chelsea, so I'll have to find a way out, ' the striker told reporters after Spain's draw with Colombia on Wednesday evening.

"I guess I have had such a bad season that I can't continue. If the coach doesn't want you, you have to leave".

Costa has already made his desire to return to Atletico Madrid clear but that move has been scuppered due to the Spanish club's transfer ban, which prevents them from registering players until January 2018.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) refused to uphold Atletico's appeal against a ban on registering new players handed down by Federation Internationale de Football Association, which means they will be unable to field any new signings until January next year.

"It would be nice to go back, but it's hard to go four or five months without playing and it's a World Cup year".

"I know it goes beyond their pay structure and Mr (Daniel) Levy would have a lot of people rapping on his door asking for rises".
