Wonder Woman Review: SUPER Super hero movie in a long time

Image Courtesy of DC Films and Warner Bros. But I think we're all pretty pleased with the film, and you guys have been great, giving us amazingly wonderful positive feedback.

Jenkins seems to have spotted where DC's previous films went wrong, allowing her characters to live and breathe as real people, not merely dispensing justice like ice-cold, super-strong robots.

It is, but let's pump the brakes a bit.

The movie is fueled nearly entirely by the flashing, dark-eyed charisma of Gal Gadot, who introduced this Wonder Woman in a cameo in last year's dismal Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

DC has made it hard for fans to be excited about their movies. "It's been around for over 75 years, and you certainly feel the responsibility", Gadot says. Gal Gadot stars in the film as Wonder Woman with support coming from Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis and Connie Nielsen.

Speaking to Uproxx, Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins (who is expected to return for a sequel) said that doing another period film was always the plan for a potential sequel.

"The [value] I give most primacy to is compassion and empathy", says Rucka describing Wonder Woman.

It's steady, but far from spectacular. It is set decades earlier, as the world is engaged in World War I.

Simmons: Created by William Moulton Marston, Wonder Woman first appeared in 1941.

It starts off with Diana Prince working in the Louvre Museum where she recalls her childhood in Themyscira. Gadot's interviews are an enlightening look at her character, and it's clear that she believes Diana is the complex, powerful hero that women have been waiting for. "She came out of literature first and is now in the movies".

Fighting alongside men in the war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers and her true destiny. It's the law of averages, and I accept that going in. Ahead of the film's premiere, some men took issue with the woman-led movie on social media, especially after a Texas theater announced a woman's-only screening.

"Welcome to jolly old London", Steve tells Diana when they arrive by boat.

The action in this film is awe-inspiring.
