Eagles land in Uyo, ready for Bafana Bafana battle

Fielding questions from journalists shortly after the team's first training session at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, Onazi said the players were battle ready to ensure Nigeria qualifies for Afcon 2019, SportsVanguard writes.
The Super Eagles had been in France, where they played two worldwide friendly matches against Corsica and Togo, and arrived Nigeria on Friday, with the players given last weekend off.
Bafana last played Chipolopolo in January 2015, where a solitary goal by Thuso Phala was enough to hand the South Africans only their fifth win over the 2012 Afcon champions.
"Our captain Mikel Obi and our first choice goalkeeper (Carl Ikeme) are out of the match".
He, however, said that he was expecting four more players to report to camp Tuesday afternoon.
Kelechi Iheanacho, Ogenyi Onazi, John Ogu were among the 21 players that arrived camp on Monday to train ahead of the upcoming match.
Also speaking, Coach Rohr explained that he would give limited play-time to Muslims in the team that include Ahmed Musa and Shehu Abdullahi because of the ongoing Ramadan. "It is not going to be a do or die affair but we are here to make up for the past", he said.
Tyronne Ebuehi, Super Eagles right full back, says the opportunity to play for Nigeria is a blessing.
He said: "The team is focused".

A Thuso Phala goal in the 81 minute gave the hosts victory in the worldwide friendly match which was used as a warm-up clash shortly before the start of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.
