Sheriff: 'Multiple fatalities' in Florida shooting

At some point, he encountered an employee, who later told investigators that Neumann pointed a gun at her and told her to get out.

Neumann had some encounters with authorities, including a 2014 incident at Fiamma Inc. where the shooting took place, Demings said in a news conference. Neumann shot them in the head or shot them multiple times. As soon as they had enough - three - they went inside, using all their training and experience for dealing with active shooters in a city where, horribly, mass shootings have happened before, Demings said.

Officers were dispatched within 45 seconds and arrived two minutes later, the sheriff said. Also killed were Brenda Montanez-Crespo, 44; Kevin Clark, 53; Jeffrey Roberts, 57; and Kevin Lawson, 46, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

The Orange County sheriff's office have identified all five victims of the incident, whose ages range from 35-70's.

Deputies said the scene is contained.

Delivered at 11 a.m. Monday-Friday.

The most recent records by the Bureau of Labor Statistics say workplace homicides rose by 2 percent to 417 cases in 2015, with shootings increasing by 15 percent. It wasn't immediately clear whether he specifically targeted the victims or opened fire randomly. The victim of that incident was not among the dead Monday, Demings said. "We can not connect this incident to any global terrorism", Demings said.

Demings said Neumann lived alone and had no family in the area. The suspect did not appear to have a concealed weapons permit, according to police.

According to the Associated Press, Shelley Adams, whose sister works for the company said she was in the bathroom when shots rang out. She came out and saw someone lying on the floor. Adams said. "That's shocking".

The shooting comes nearly a year after 49 people were killed at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando on June 12, 2016, the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history. Moments later, he said, the police were everywhere.
