The previous desktop operating system was named macOS Sierra and the naming scheme is similar to what Microsoft has done with its Windows 10 Creators Update. The Cupertino has also unveiled a new version of Metal, the company's graphics technology, and will be called as Metal 2.
Apple Senior VP Craig Federighi said "intelligent tracking prevention" uses machine learning to keep trackers, namely ad trackers and third-party data trackers, from following users as they browse from site to site.
Apple's worldwide developer conference, or WWDC for short, is back again and the company has announced not only the next versions of iOS, macOS, tvOS and watchOS, but also a fleet of hardware updates.
Apple noted how with Metal 2 and the new iMacs, the HTC Vive VR headset can be used with the all-in-one machines and development of VR apps can be done with the latest Unreal graphics engine and the SteamVR software development kit.
macOS High Sierra is chock full of refinements and improvements, but one of the biggest changes comes with support for virtual reality. In the meantime, if you're interested, check out the links below for iOS 11 Beta and macOS High Sierra Beta installation guides.
Apple was also keen to emphasize the editing tools that it has built into Photos, with a new feature called Curves particularly strongly pushed.

Photos can recognize more faces, and is getting a bunch of categorization updates.
macOS High Sierra is the slightly odd name of Apple's next version of macOS. ○ Spotlight provides flight status information, including departure and arrival times, delays, gates, terminals and even a map of the flight path. ○ iCloud File Sharing lets users share any file stored in iCloud Drive and collaborate with other people.
Metal is now available external graphics. No release date or price was confirmed, nor did Apple comment on options for older systems without TB3 support. It works pretty much like every other smart speaker on the market, from the outside: You trigger an action with wake-word, "Hey, Siri", and then it flashes lights to acknowledge your voice and plays what you ask for or answers your question. Federighi explained that it uses machine learning to identify and track blockers, so that ads don't follow users across pages.
