When Kelly pressed on Russia's alleged involvement in USA elections past year - something Putin will obviously never admit - the former KGB head again responded aggressively. "Put your finger anywhere on a map of the world", he said, "and everywhere you will hear complaints that American officials are interfering in internal electoral processes".
The Russian leader accused the American media of creating the entire controversy about his country interfering in the USA election to use it as a weapon against President Donald Trump.
He accused the USA media of sensationalizing information and using it as a "weapon of war" against Trump. During the presidential transition, lots of information from an unknown source was published, information that led Americans to believe that Russian Federation had implicating information on President Trump.
Mr Putin denied having any compromising material about the U.S. President.
"It wouldn't make sense for us to interfere", Putin said. Where would we get this information from? Why, did we have some special relationship with him?
Putin denied knowledge of any meetings between Trump campaign officials and members of the Russian government, noting that he doesn't have time to meet with every ambassador every day.
"I will tell you something that you probably already know", he said.
Comey, who was leading the Federal Bureau of Investigation's probe into alleged Russian meddling in last year's United States presidential election, was sacked by Trump last month, four years into his 10-year term. "Good job. Your lives must be so boring". He said he had yet to see any evidence of Russian meddling and drew a connection between the allegations against Russia and the theory that US intelligence agencies arranged the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
PUTIN: There's a theory that Kennedy's assassination was arranged by the United State intelligence services.
"They have been misled", Putin responded when Kelly said that American intelligence agencies had concluded that Russian Federation interfered in the campaign with the goal of electing Trump. She noted that Trump's refusal to release his tax returns, the reported existence of a secret Russian dossier containing compromising information about Trump, and reports that Trump's campaign communicated with the Kremlin had raised concerns among some Americans that Trump is hiding information that the Russian government might be aware of.
"I made my speech", Putin said, adding the two barely talked.
Putin spoke about Flynn in an interview conducted in Moscow on Friday with NBC's Megyn Kelly, which was broadcast Sunday night. He has also been accused of not reporting his meeting with Putin and income from Russian sources, such as payments from RT.
"... In the grand scheme of things, we don't care who's the head of the United States", he added.
Russian Federation is ready to listen to comments that are constructive with the goal of establishing a relationship "but we will absolutely not accept when these sorts of things are used as an instrument of political conflict", he said.
Putin also said he had no knowledge of a report by multiple USA media outlets of a proposal by Trump son-in-law and key adviser Jared Kushner to set up a secret communications channel with the Kremlin.
The Russian leader was quoted as saying by TV Line that he had not seen any proof of his country's interference during the USA election and the US intelligence officials had been misled. "You created a sensation out of nothing and out of this sensation, you turned it into a weapon of war against the current president". Mr Trump denies the claims. There's nothing to even talk about.
