Isner down one set in suspended French Open tennis match

What do you want me to do?

As the French Open enters its seventh day, the tantalising contests and tricky ones for the big player will come thick and fast.

Serbia's Novak Djokovic plays a shot in his fourth round match against Spain's Albert Ramos-Vinolas at the French Open tennis tournament Sunday at the Roland Garros stadium, in Paris, France. Also into the fourth round: 2014 runner-up Simona Halep and former No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki. "She obviously loves the clay".

"I played really well the whole match". "I think she may have a grudge against us". I can arrive a bit later and get back quickly to see the family. She just keeps her head down.

Play has been suspended on all courts at the French Open because of rain.

HOW THE SEEDS FARED: Only Cuevas fell on the men's side.

Wawrinka will next play the victor of the match between Frenchmen Gael Monfils and Richard Gasquet.

The 2015 champion in Paris, Stan Wawrinka, joined Murray in the fourth round, a 7-6 (2), 6-0, 6-2 victor against 28th-seeded Fabio Fognini.

"I'm happy with how the match was today".

The pair exchanged breaks during the opening set and it was decided in a tie-break after an hour of action.

The final round in the French Open will be held June 10.

After fighting back from two sets to one down to beat Diego Schwartzman in the third round, the defending champion was no doubt hoping for an easier evening.

It was also a day of precipitation that left matches cancelled or unfinished.

From 3-5, Murray was able to rally and take the first set to a tiebreak where he won it 7-6 (8) after Del Potro sent a forehand wide on set point in what ended up being a thriller first set.

The match was a rematch of last summer's Rio Olympic gold-medal match.

This time Murray would make no mistake and crunched it out with his fourth ace of the match.

In a titanic first set, Del Potro wasted four set points then saved two before Murray pounced for the opener when the Argentine star narrowly miscued. "He had chances in the first set, he double faulted on set point". "I like it a lot, but it's tough to talk".

"I sill feel the ankle some times but I am able to run. I can move pretty well", Halep said. It's better to say "OK, I want to try and win the tournament" and to fall short and lose in the final than to say "I'm delighted getting to the second week" and then lose in the fourth round.

Garcia, who is seeded 28th, won 6-4, 4-6, 9-7.

Later Monday, Czech world number two Karolina Pliskova, also in the running to become both a first time major victor and the new world number one, faces Veronica Cepede Royg in her last-16 tie.

Before this year, Pliskova had never made it beyond the second round in Paris.

AUTO RACING: Kyle Larson started from the pole and easily won the Xfinity race at Dover International Speedway for his second straight victory in NASCAR's second-tier series. "I couldn't dream of a better scenario".

"It was a good one for me to get through". In another quarterfinal, Pliskova meets No. 28 Caroline Garcia, a 6-2, 6-4 victor against Alize Cornet in a match between two Frenchwomen. This was his third Grand Slam tournament.

Murray will next play eighth-seeded Kei Nishikori, who recovered to beat Fernando Verdasco 0-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-0.

Following them onto Court Philippe Chatrier will be No. 15 Gael Monfils and No. 24 Richard Gasquet.

Over on Court Suzanne Lenglen, 2015 champion Stan Wawrinka takes on Italian Fabio Fognini, who is seeded 28th.

Pliskova faces Germany's Carina Witthoeft and Halep plays No. 26 Daria Kasatkina of Russian Federation.
