Haley Claims That Trump 'Believes the Climate Is Changing'

Three days after Donald Trump announced that the U.S. would pull out of the Paris climate accord, senior members of his administration could not present a united front in response to questions about the president's beliefs on climate change.
It's clear that was a talking point because when CBS' John Dickerson called on Haley to expand on that point and explain whether human activity causes those pollutants that lead to climate change, her answer suddenly got a bit more evasive.
"Because if he did believe in it, you wouldn't pull out of Paris".
Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt holds up a miner's helmet that he was given after speaking with coal miners at the Harvey Mine on April 13, 2017 in Sycamore, Pennsylvania. That is where we are.
"If we have peak demand needs you want a diversity of fuels that generate electricity", Pruitt said. In fact, the opposite is the case: the U.S. got off very lightly.
Just as no one knows the fate of the Paris accord or its potential replacement, it's unclear how much Simpson actually did to find new suspects for crimes that many people still think he committed. He said: "With respect to the Paris accord, the focus is on the efficacy, the merits of the deal and the demerits of the deal".
"The focus is on the efficacy, the merits of the deal, and the demerits of the deal", Pruitt said, dodging the question by pointing out that the United States has reduced carbon emissions substantially in the past two decades.
In December 2015 in Paris, world leaders signed the first global commitment to fight climate change.
After the U.S. Senate and President George W. Bush roundly rejected the Kyoto Protocol, however, the United States took on a more passive and sometimes even obstructive role in the climate change negotiations during the 2000s.
"I thought that he would come to his senses on it, but he didn't", Gore said.
Oliver closes by noting that the debate around climate change has been riddled with failures over the years and that it's often hard for people to relate to or fully understand. Former President Barack Obama pledged $3 billion to help poorer countries like China and India to reduce their emissions. The environmental left has a very short memory.
To conclude, while the US pull out would negatively impacts the global fight against climate disturbances in the short run, all indications from other major nations point that the collective fight is on and there is no going back on Paris deal. He then joked that it was as if he just said "Ebola, ISIS and that dentist who shot Cecil the lion are going to save the planet for us".
However, organizers also say their primary goals include getting an independent commission established for the Russian Federation investigations, keeping the public as informed as possible and getting Congress to demand that Trump release his tax returns. These and other groups believe that it would have been more prudent to remain within the Paris Agreement and keep a prominent seat at the table as future decisions are made.
"It undermines America's standing in the world", Gore said. "It threatens the ability of humanity to solve the climate crisis in time".
