Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE sever ties with Qatar over 'terrorism'

In response to the concerns, a FIFA spokesperson told Omnisport: "FIFA is in regular contact with the Qatar 2022 Local Organising Committee and the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy handling matters relating to the 2022 FIFA World Cup".
Etihad says it will operate its Doha service on 5 June but suspend the route from 6 June.
Saudi Arabia is also shutting its border to neighboring Qatar, locking the state out of its only over-land border crossing.
"The GCC is going through a serious diplomatic crisis", Anwar Gargash, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, said on his twitter account, urging "changing behavior and building confidence" to ensure "solving the crisis" between Qatar and the other five GCC members on the issue of Iran.
Qatar Foreign Ministry has said it regrets the decision by the four countries. It cited officials as saying it is to protect its national security from the dangers of terrorism and extremism.
"(Qatar) embraces multiple terrorist and sectarian groups aimed at disturbing stability in the region, including the Muslim Brotherhood, ISIS (Islamic State) and al-Qaeda, and promotes the message and schemes of these groups through their media constantly", Saudi state news agency SPA said.
Manned by personnel from the US Air Force, Army, Navy and Marines as well as coalition partner countries, the CAOC is "the nerve center" of air campaigns across the region, according to the Air Force.
The economic fallout loomed immediately, as Abu Dhabi's state-owned Ethihad Airways, Dubai's Emirates Airline and budget carrier Flydubai said they would suspend all flights to and from Doha from Tuesday morning until further notice. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement today that it has made a decision to sever diplomatic relations with Qatar because of the continued hostility of the Qatari authorities towards Egypt.
Qatar used this Arab Spring as a way to gain more prominence in the Gulf.
There had been no official communication to banks from the Central Bank of Egypt on the split, the bankers said.
It adds that this in addition to "Qatar's violation" of the statement issued at the US-Islamic Summit in Riyadh on May 21st, 2017 on countering terrorism in the region and considering Iran a state sponsor of terrorism'.
The ministry's statement said Qatari citizens needed to leave Bahrain within two weeks and that air and sea traffic between the two countries would be halted. Meanwhile, Bahrain has also banned all of its citizens from visiting or residing in Qatar after the severance of ties.
The United Arab Emirates and Egypt have cut diplomatic ties to Qatar.
