Movie Beat: Gal Gadot, Chris Pine fantastic in four-star "Wonder Woman"

Wonder Woman hits theaters June 2. Gadot had signed a multi-picture deal with the studio to appear in Justice League and possible other appearances in other DC films.

Although it has not been officially confirmed yet, Jenkins revealed to THR she had been contacted for the sequel to Wonder Woman and is contractually obligated to continue. "I think we made a really, really good movie".Something of an unknown quantity when she was first cast, the statuesque Israeli model-turned-actress Gadot is simply astonishing in the title role - bountifully projecting equal amounts of tenacity, warmth, humour and overall awesomeness. Moira MacDonald wrote for the Seattle Times that "Patty Jenkins" "Wonder Woman' is that rarity: a superhero movie with a heart". And that could come from any direction. Chris Pine is equally great as Steve Trevor, a soldier and spy who is the trigger for Diana getting off her island and joining the war effort. Aside from being one of the most critically acclaimed comic book movies ever, it also had a strong Thursday night gross, so we'll keep our fingers crossed hoping for an impressive opening weekend total. Convinced that she can stop the threat, Diana leaves her home for the first time. In this story, while visiting her homeland of Themyscira, Wonder Woman learns from an oracle that an ancient evil will rise up and destroy the League.

Wonder Woman ends at the end of World War I, which is nearly 100 years before Diana's reappearance in Batman v Superman.

Wonder Woman is out in theaters today.

Fans will definitely want to see more of the Amazonian princess (played by Gal Gadot), and while they'll get that in the upcoming Justice League film (set to release November 17), audiences will no doubt appreciate a more focused handling of Diana Prince, which further solo films can only provide. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers...and her true destiny.
