LeSean McCoy: 'Don't be surprised' if Jeremy Maclin signs with Bills

The news apparently sent some of Buffalo's players into a frenzy, as well, as they realize that Maclin could help out the team's receiving corps in a big way.

The Buffalo Bills are in preliminary talks with free agent wide receiver Jeremy Maclin.

LeSean McCoy said "don't be surprised" if Jeremy Maclin ends up with Buffalo Bills.

The Chiefs cutting Jeremy Macklin on Friday caught everyone by surprise, including the guy who was planning on throwing him passes during the 2017 season.

Bills running back LeSean McCoy and Maclin were both part of the Eagles' 2009 draft class, and they played together in Philadelphia through the 2014 season. McCoy is still one of the better running backs in the National Football League, and quarterback Tyrod Taylor has proven to be a solid quarterback.

"That would be cool to have another weapon on the offense", McCoy said. "You know how the business goes". A lot of things would have to work out for that to happen. The Bills are dealing with injuries to top receivers Sammy Watkins (foot) and rookie Zay Jones (knee).

The Bills have $11.6 million in salary-cap space, according to NFLPA records.

He appeared in 12 games last season, recording 536 yards on 44 catches and two touchdowns.

Quarterback Tyrod Taylor, also speaking Sunday at McCoy's charity softball game, plans to reach out to Maclin and Bills coaches this week about the possibility of adding the former Pro Bowl receiver to the roster. "I would love to have him".
