The tangible harm from Trump's decision to pull out of the climate deal is hard to measure, but it has unquestionably made this country an worldwide laughing stock and signaled to most Americans that this president will follow the shrinking minority that supports him anywhere they want to go, even right off a cliff.
"Kerry's motivation in putting a deal together is just that: getting the deal", Keane said.
Trump announced Thursday that he was pulling out of the Paris Agreement - a pact that 195 nations signed in 2016, pledging to reduce carbon emissions to combat global warming.
Kerry had made that point to argue that Obama approving the deal via executive action, as opposed to it being a treaty that would need Senate ratification, was the best approach.
He cast his decision as one that puts the United States first, a central theme of his presidential campaign. 'And we presumed that common sense, that basic economics, that science would ultimately prevail'.
He questioned what Trump knows that those across the world who urged the president not to pull out of the Paris climate agreement don't know.
Kerry meant the former football star's infamous statement after his acquittal on murder charges in the 1990s - that "when things have settled a bit, I will pursue as my primary goal in life the killer or killers who slaughtered" his ex-wife and her friend.
Kerry obviously doesn't understand "The Art of the Deal". "Everybody knows he isn't going to do that because he doesn't believe in it, because if he did believe in it, you wouldn't pull out of Paris", Kerry continued. "Because if he did believe in it, you wouldn't pull out of Paris". After he was found innocent, Simpson pledged to find the culprit.
Trump has repeatedly said that he does not believe in climate change, and has even claimed that the entire concept is a hoax created by the Chinese government.
