Zidane's role in restoring Madrid to the top of Spanish football was hailed by Ronaldo as the Portuguese claimed just his second league winners' medal in eight seasons since joining the Spanish giants. They need to beat Juventus in their game in Cardiff to defend their title and hold the prestige of being the first team to do so. With the goal against Malaga, Ronaldo scored his 14th goal in the last nine games.
"We have to focus only on Sunday's game, we have to win it to become the champions", said Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored twice in the 4-1 win in Vigo.
The focus will now be on Europe as Real Madrid will be looking to increase their dominance in Europe with yet another Champions League trophy in less than 3 years.
"No, I'm not offended at all", Pique told reporters as he returned to begin preparations for Saturday's Copa del Rey final against Alaves.
While Real remain on course for a La Liga-Champions League double, Barca can still win the Copa del Rey when they face Alaves on May 27 in departing coach Luis Enrique's final game in charge.
Madrid won La Liga and the Europa League in 1985-86, but their last season with both a La Liga and Champions League crown (then European Cup) title was nearly sixty years ago. "Later we will prepare for the final".
"I have lived as a player and for me today is the happiest day, professionally".
Perez who was speaking at Madrid's town hall during the club's title celebrations, said, "Thanks Zinedine for all you have given us, and all you keep giving us. It was an honor to be part of it".
"It's very hard to stay as Real Madrid coach for a long time, Mr Perez is very impatient".
The stadium will still host the Copa del Rey final next Saturday, and a day later an exhibition match involving former players will officially close the venue.
Real Madrid had 93 points for this year's league campaign while second placer Barcelona had 90 points.
Third-placed Atletico had already qualified for the Champions League, along with fourth-placed Sevilla, which will have to go through a playoff to get into the competition's group stage.
