Iowa topples top-seeded Houston 6-3 in regional opener

The Hawkeyes pulled back within one in the 5 as Jake Adams drove his nation-leading 28 home run over the left field wall, but the Hawkeyes couldn't muster any more offense over the final four innings as their season hangs in the balance in Sunday's elimination game.

The Hawkeyes put three runs on the board in the bottom of the fifth, erasing the 1-0 lead Houston opened in the third inning on a sacrifice fly by Wong.

Iowa outhit Houston 13-6 in the game as the Hawkeyes notched their 39th win of the season, and they will face #3 seed Texas A&M Saturday night at 7PM.

Baylor's Alex Phillips (4-3) gave up five hits and three runs in two innings. The victor was supposed to play the Aggies again Sunday, now the Cougars and Aggies will potentially play twice today.

Game 6 - Game 4 victor vs. The Cougars added another run on a two-out double from Grayson Padgett.

The Cougars scored eight runs before the Bears (34-23) got an out in the seventh inning, capped by Scheiner's three-run shot, his 18th of the season. Tyler Cropley tripled to right-center with one out and scored on Grant Judkins single.

Matt Hoeg and Ben Norman singled to load the bases before Mitchell Boe beat out an infield single to score Judkins.
