NYPD officers injured within hours, 1 in critical condition

The NY Daily News reports that a Brooklyn cop was clinging to life early Sunday after he was dragged for more than two blocks by the driver of a stolen auto, officials and police sources said.

As CBS2's Ali Bauman reported, authorities said Officer Dolsh Veve was left in critical condition at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County Sunday morning.

Shortly after, a 15-year-old boy, who is believed to be one of the occupants of the vehicle, walked into Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center with a gunshot wound, O'Neill said, adding that he is in serious condition.

"I ask all New Yorkers to keep Officer Veve in their thoughts and prayers as we go into the day and wish him all the best", NYPD Commissioner James O'Neill said.

Six plain clothes police officers from the 67th precinct responded and exited their vehicles, speaking with several people who were attending a party at that location.

No arrests have been made as of Sunday morning, said police.

"He walked into Brookdale hospital, said he was shot", O'Neill said.

Police were questioning an 18-year-old woman and 30-year-old man who they believe were also in the auto at the time. It appears that Police Officer Veve was able to discharge his service weapon twice while being dragged.

As three of the officers continued to speak to several people, the officers observed Police Officer Veve being dragged by the sedan west on Tilden Avenue.

The auto had been stolen in the past couple days, O'Neill said.

Mayor Bill de Blasio met with the injured officer's family at Kings County Hospital overnight.

The people inside sped off, hitting the officer and dragging him down Tilden Avenue. "Such a nice person".
