--- 11:00 a.m. Defending champions Novak Djokovic and Garbine Muguruza both play Sunday in the fourth round of the French Open, in a packed sch.
The last repeat women's champion at Roland Garros remains Justine Henin, who won the tournament three consecutive years from 2005-07.
The 14-time major victor has dropped just 20 games in four rounds so far, just one more than he lost at the same stage in 2012.
Djokovic and Nadal are however seeded to meet in the semi-finals. "I have a feeling that I have played well up to now", Nadal said ominously after thumping Basilashvili.
It is the 11th time he has reached the quarter-finals at the French Open - a record shared with Roger Federer.
Nadal was given a time violation warning but took that in his stride, saving two break points and unleashing a thunderous backhand victor in an eventful fifth game to lead 4-1.
A dominant Rafael Nadal cruised into the quarter final of the French Open.
The only defeats for the fourth seed have come against Robin Soderling in the fourth round in 2009 and Novak Djokovic in the 2015 quarter-finals.
He said: "I think the rain helps me a lot, because I was really down in the fourth set and mentally I wasn't ready".
Karen Khachanov will play Andy Murray in the fourth round after the giant Russian beat American 21st seed John Isner 7-6 (7/1), 6-3, 6-7 (5/7), 7-6 (7/3).
The third went with serve until the pressure told on Bautista Agut, who sent a backhand into the net to trail 3-2 and the nine-time champion made light work of securing another emphatic straight-sets victory, sealed when his toiling opponent netted after being ground into submission.
Next up for Svitolina is Croatian qualifier Petra Martic, who beat Latvian 17th seed Anastasija Sevastova 6-1 6-1.
Carreno Busta has been the clear surprise of this tournament, as he's now beaten back-to-back top-15 players and just broke one of the top servers in the game seven times.
Czech second seed Karolina Pliskova advanced to the fourth round at Roland Garros on Sunday with a 7-5, 6-1 victory over Germany's Carina Witthoeft.
The 30-year-old Monfils won 7-6 (7-5) 5-7 4-3 to set up a last-16 meeting with third seed Stan Wawrinka.
