Manchester bomb probe police make 18th arrest

The arrest came after officers seized a vehicle which they said could provide a "significant development" in the investigation.

Police investigating the Manchester bombing have arrested a 24-year-old man.

The force said officers also executed a warrant at a house in Princess Road in Moss Side in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The police added that a total 17 people have now been arrested in connection with the investigation, six of whom have already been released, while 11 remain in custody.

The latest development comes a day before an all-star benefit concert led by USA singer Ariana Grande, who was performing on the night 22 people were killed at the Manchester Arena.

Seventeen arrests have so far been made in the United Kingdom and six people have since been released without charge.

Current and former intelligence officials have stated that Salman Abedi, the Manchester terrorist who killed 22 people at a concert in England, met with Islamic State (ISIS) members in Libya.

Other pictures from her visit to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital show her hugging youngsters on the ward, with one father left in tears by the visit.

He wrote: "This means more to us than all the awesome things people have done this week. when your daughter asks after her 2nd operation is ariana ok?"

Ariana Grande returned to Manchester on Friday ahead of a charity concert to honor the victims of the attack.

"Jaden was sitting, watching television when Ariana came into her room". No1 deserves this more than her.

Greater Manchester Police have swooped on a suspect in connection with last week's terror attacks in the city.
