British Transport Police say they have received reports of a major incident involving a knife and a vehicle.
One occurred at London Bridge, when a van was seen plowing into pedestrians.
"We believe three people were involved but we still have some more inquiries to be 100% confident on that".
Three attackers, who were wearing fake explosive suicide vests, were also shot dead by police, the Metropolitan Police said.
Canadian officials were monitoring developments in the deadly terrorist attack in London Saturday night, urging Canadian citizens in the British capital to avoid the area.
There were also reports of a third incident, a stabbing in the Vauxhall area of London.
While details are still coming in, it appeared there were two separate incidents.
The vehicle then continued to drive towards Borough Market, just south of the bridge, where three assailants got out and attempted to stab civilians in a restaurant, including a police officer. They did not say if officers fired the shots.
They are working closely with British Transport Police, City of London Police, the London Ambulance Service and the London Fire Brigade. A BBC reporter who was on the bridge at the time said the van was being driven at around 50 miles per hour by a male suspect.
One witness told the BBC she saw a speeding white van veering into pedestrians at London Bridge.
In March, a knife-wielding man went on a deadly rampage in the heart of Britain's seat of power, plowing a vehicle into pedestrians on London's Westminster Bridge before stabbing a police officer to death inside the gates of Parliament.
