The victory means Real are the first team to successfully defend the trophy in the Champions League era.
Zidane, who has presided over those back-to-back Champions League successes, admitted that Madrid struggled in the first half, when Juventus played with no shortage of belief.
The Portugal forward put Madrid ahead with a cool finish in the first half at the Principality Stadium and then scored their killer third goal from close-range in the second half.
But treble-chasing Juve's hopes were killed off after the break as Real rose to the occasion to complete their first league and cup double in 59 years.
"Zidane gave us a very positive half-time team talk and told us he really believed in us".
A bomb scare triggered panic among Juventus fans assembled to watch the Champions League final in Turin on Saturday, leaving some 200 supporters injured, according to local police.
Hundreds of Juventus soccer fans watching the Champions League final in one of Turin's main squares were injured when loud bangs created a panic and mayhem. "We won the league on the last day and we know it's very hard to win a Champions League final for the second year running - we've managed to do it".
In the end, Modrić's side was victorious, and Luka has thus become the first Croat to win three Champions League titles. Karim Benzema picked up possession and passed to Ronaldo.
"It's a year that the players and the club should be congratulated for".
But within seven minutes, Ronaldo was shaking his head with a scowl after seeing an equalizer of individual brilliance. Tied with five titles each are Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Liverpool. But the magnificence evoked memories of another showpiece staged in the United Kingdom when Zidane volleyed into the top corner in Glasgow to help Madrid beat Bayer Leverkusen. The Italian Champions were all over the field and dominating Real Madrid.
Zinedine Zidane's men took control after the interval as Brazilian midfielder Casemiro's deflected shot restored the lead for the Spanish side. The Croatian timed his cutback to perfection in the 64th to allow Ronaldo to ghost in between Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini and slot in at the near post.
Veteran Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon was the focus of many neutral supporters before the game, with the 39-year-old looking to win the trophy at the third time of asking.
