3 children found safe in Amber Alert; suspect in custody

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has issued an Amber Alert after Wichita firefighters found a woman dead in a burning home.

According to the alert, the Wichita Fire Department responded about 12:20 p.m. Friday to a residential fire at 321 N. Ash St.in Wichita. He's believed to be with 12-year-old William J Thompson III, 5-year-old Ethan A Thompson and 2-year-old Damien A Wright. He is 6-feet and weighs around 158 pounds.

Dane Wright is in police custody after being found following an Amber Alert that was issued for three missing children. Authorities have not said what her relationship is to the children and 29-year-old Dane Wright. He is believed to be driving a 2001, white Ford Focus, license plate number 718JHX.

Ramsay said police worked quickly and were able to find Wright and the children in south Wichita. During their firefighting efforts, they found a woman dead inside the home.

Wichita police consider the death associated with the fire suspicious and are trying to identify the victim.
