Warriors roll to 113-91 win vs. Cavs in Game 1

Their good news? The reasons they lost were pretty clear.
Kerr has been out since Game 3 of the Warriors' first-round playoff series against the Portland Trail Blazers. Or try to correct. Compared to four for the Warriors. "So we just got to continue to play great team defence".
Perhaps the Cavs should listen to Golden State point guard Steph Curry explain his team's lowturnover rate. "That's the formula for us", Curry said. "Making the pass that's in front of you".
You were doing the right thing all along, even when it really, really seemed like you weren't. Too much clutching and grabbing. Clearly frustrated, James is going to need a lot more help than Irving scoring 24 points if Cleveland is going to avoid being embarrassed in this series. Durant had the same number of assists on 31 non-Durant baskets.
But James also made eight of 20 Cleveland turnovers that led to 21 Warriors points, seven of them coming in the first half, the second most in any half of his epic career.
Where Kyrie and LeBron at least have flashes where they scare the crap out of the Warriors, Love never really threatens Golden State. And what better contest could fans have hoped for than to see the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers clash for a record third straight time in the 2017 NBA Finals. But calling LeBron's night a disappointment just underscores how impossible his job will be against this version of Golden State.
The Warriors and Kerr did not rule out a return for Game 1 earlier in the week, holding back on an announcement on who would be coaching until two ours before game time.
The Cavs gave the Warriors running opportunities by turning the ball over and by missing a lot of shots, which can ignite a fast break the other way. Simply, the Cavaliers' shot makers didn't make their shots.
Durant could sign a so-called "non-Bird" extension for up to four years, but a more likely scenario would have him sign another two-year deal, with a player option on the second year (similar to what LeBron James did in Cleveland for several years). That will make it hard for the Cavaliers to try to turn these games into the kind of physical battles they likely need them to be to make this series competitive - or, even more simply, to even find a way to routinely guard the Warriors, who seemed to be able to overwhelm the Cavaliers' porous defense nearly no matter what combination of players was on the court in Game 1.
In Golden State's 113-91 Game 1 victory, Durant was the unquestioned star.
"Yeah, I don't want to get into that", Durant agreed.
Kevin Durant lies to reporters after Game 1 on the NBA Finals by saying that he didn't stare down Rihanna. But know this - there's not even a hint of panic with the Cavaliers. And the Cavaliers have a special bit of history on their side. If there is one thing we learned from last year's Finals is that they can not be counted out.
Well OK, not exactlythese Warriors.
"This feels a lot like past year". No team had ever come back to take the Finals after falling 3-1.
And it works both ways. Basketball is a game of match-ups.
