Vice President Responds To Mayor Peduto's Commitment To Paris Climate Accord

"We at Under Armour are disappointed by the Administration's decision to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement as climate change continues to threaten our planet, our cities and our economies", Plank said in a statement. Macron, in a joint news conference with Bloomberg and Hidalgo, said the Paris climate pact is irreversible despite U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to withdraw from it. "The same has been said by the secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change".

Public health officials have condemned the president's decision to withdraw the USA from the Paris accord on global climate change, warning that a warmer planet will increase pollution, hasten the spread of infectious disease and raise the prevalence of certain cancers, among other health concerns, reports the Los Angeles Times.

"Today I want the world to know the U.S. will meet our Paris commitment, and through a partnership among cities, states, and businesses, we will seek to remain part of the Paris agreement process", Bloomberg said at a joint press conference at the Elysee presidential palace.

While noted for their strong support of Trump, America's evangelical Christian community has expressed mixed opinions on the announcement.

The architects of the Paris Agreement included Christiana Figueres, who until recently led the UNFCCC.

Under the Paris accord, the US sent some $1 billion to the Green Climate Fund that's guided by the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change - the body that coordinates worldwide climate policy. "We need action", Bloomberg said. In 2008, MA lawmakers passed a law requiring the state to reduce its carbon emissions by at least 80 percent below 1990 levels by 2050. "I would say that there are climate exaggerators", he said. Trump argued that if the USA stayed in the climate agreement, it would put the country "at a permanent disadvantage". The EU is planning to reinforce existing partner relations and find new allies from among the world's biggest economies as well as countries most vulnerable to climate change to vigorously move forward with implementing the Paris Agreement. "We were hoping there would maybe be a last minute change of heart".

Pittsburgh's mayor issued an executive order Friday committing the city to the accord by continuing efforts to end the use of landfills, reduce energy consumption by half and develop a fossil fuel-free fleet of city vehicles.
