Shri Rajnath Singh said that the incidents of infiltration have declined to a large extent after the surgical strike.
Speaking at a Border Security Force (BSF) investiture ceremony here, Rajnath Singh asked security personnel to be aware of attempts by the "enemy" to spread false information on social networking applications like WhatsApp and Facebook.
Rajnath urged the BSF to be more vigilant against the cross-border smuggling of drugs and fake Indian currency. "I compliment both the army and the BSF for ensuring border security", Mr Singh said during an investiture ceremony of the Border Security Force or BSF in New Delhi.
Irked by some paramilitary personnel not wearing their uniforms properly, Singh pointed out in his speech out that some personnel were not wearing caps. He said, forces get the sense of sacrifice when they have sense of National pride. He said that it is our responsibility to protect the unity and integrity of our country.
"One should be alert about their dress", the Minister remarked.
This retaliation had led a total of four BSF personnel, including Meena, being decorated with gallantry medals. He added that there will be "no compromise with national respect". Mr Singh honoured the BSF jawans with medals for their exemplary work. "The national self esteem can not be compromised when any foreign power tries to disturb peace at the Indian borders".
Without identifying anyone, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has rapped an IPS officer and some BSF jawans for being improperly dressed at an award function held by the paramilitary force at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.
He also said that the recently launched web portal to redress the grievances of the CAPF personnel will be personally monitored by him once a month to ensure that there are no unresolved grievances pending through the proper channel. Meena's citation said that he was on guard duty in the bus, and his bravery and acute presence of mind kept the two terrorists away.
Director Intelligence Bureau Rajiv Jain, former Directors General and senior officers of BSF and Home Ministry were also present on the occasion.
