The Cavs were successful defending 3-point attempts, holding the Warriors to 12 of 33 from long range, but they did that at the expense of giving Durant and Steph Curry room inside. Just see the Houston Rockets and their 30 three-pointers per game average.
Those two plays happened in the first half. I mean, it's no ifs, ands or buts. "It is what it is". You got to make the decision that makes you happy. "But that's what stands out". LeBron James will have something to say about that over the next two weeks. The same can be said about any other dominant teams and performances. The first team that tried to compete against Golden State, the Portland Trail Blazers, became the Warriors first victim of the postseason. She was long a mainstay courtside at Heat games, and a year ago when LeBron and the Cavs won the title after the Warriors blew a 3-1 lead (have to get these in while I can), she made a bit of a stir with her love for the King on Instagram.
They sure look unstoppable lately.
"With Tristan, he's a monster on the boards", Cavs coach Tyronn Lue said. "Last year being 73-9, this year starting the playoffs 13-0". You are talking one of the best players in the game. He has instead stayed the course with his eyes toward the bigger goal of earning his second National Basketball Association title, which Golden State are just three games away from achieving.
The Warriors lost that series because Bogut - their best rim protector - got hurt in Game 5.
OK, James may have slipped while closing out on Kevin Durant. "So definitely a lot of things we can correct and get better at".
James finished with 28 points, 15 rebounds, and eight assists.
The turnovers were an issue all night, with James committing eight of them.
The Grammy Award-winner is a LeBron James superfan, so she was in attendance for Game 1 to support King James.
When asked about the incident during a post-game presser, KD said: "I don't even remember that". "He's going to do what he does". After the Warriors beat Cleveland 113-91 to open the best of seven series, we learned there may be more to the fashion statement.
"I think it's part of the reason people enjoy watching us play".
"There were certain points where they were getting hands on balls, deflections, and being first to the 50-50 balls". Prior to Game 1, Durant's previous career high for dunks in a playoff game was four. "They got downhill, got to the spots where they wanted to go", Love said. "We got to figure out how to combat that". Tonight he shot eight free throws, which is huge.
When Cleveland stayed on Curry, Durant got easy dunks in transition. That's huge for us. If Game 1 is any indication of how the rest of the series will play out, Hayward will have exactly foreseen the outcome.
"So for us, it's just about how we're going to answer the call. And I expect nothing less out of him, being the competitor that he is".
