Brothers in arms: Curry pays tribute to Iverson in NBA Finals

The Cavs can put their three All-Stars up against Durant, Curry and Draymond Green if Thompson and his 22.3 points per game in the regular season are no longer the same threat. They'll return to the court Saturday for workouts and Game 2 is at 8 p.m. Sunday. One game does not show that Durant has become the world's best player.

Warriors guard Stephen Curry carved up the Cavaliers in Game 1.

"He was incredible and I expect nothing less in the rest of the games", said Warriors forward Draymond Green. "Have fun with that". Warriors 2017 NBA Finals on ABC7KD was asked about it after the game."You shot a three, kind of putting a dagger into them". KD appears to be on a mission to make it rain with buckets and do work, work, work, work, work.

The Cavaliers can level the series by winning Game Two on Sunday before the series shifts to Cleveland for two games next week. Golden State never was challenged again, cruising to a 113-91 victory.

Golden State points resulting from LeBron James' eight turnovers.

Durant, seeking his first National Basketball Association crown after leaving Oklahoma City for Golden State last July, hit 14-of-26 from the floor and added eight rebounds and eight assists, his early domination including six first-half dunks, more than in any prior full playoff game.

Durant played well in his first Finals trip but didn't have the help he has now with a two-time MVP in Curry, one of the league's best two-way players in Thompson and a do-it-all demon like Green.

"You take one of the best teams that we had ever assembled previous year, that we saw in the regular season and in the postseason, and then in the offseason you add a high-powered offensive talent like that and a great basketball IQ like that, that's what stands out", James said.

The Cavs watched film and vowed to get back to basics and the solid fundamentals that carried them this far, especially on the defensive end. "So I just try to focus on defense".

But the Warriors understand that defense is the wellspring of their best offensive efforts.

Not only did the Warriors match a Finals low with just four turnovers, they took Tristan Thompson out of the equation by holding him scoreless.

Thompson is under scrutiny because his offensive production has fallen dramatically during the Warriors' 13-0 run through the playoffs, but he said, "If I score six points a game and it gets us four wins and an National Basketball Association championship, I can do that every year". He registered seven uncontested dunks in the first half. "I think when you're the prohibitive favorite against LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love, that means you're a heck of a team, and they sure are". You go through it with us.

His Airness scored a combined 70 points in 86 minutes of play without a turnover, going 27-of-62 from the field in a tightly-contested series.
