The White House refuses to say whether the President knew. His last day has not yet been determined.
Meanwhile, the White House is shaking up its communications team.
Kelly made the comments on "This Week with George Stephanopoulos", and he reiterated them in two other appearances on Sunday morning news broadcasts.

The briefing came four days after The Washington Post reported the president's son-in-law and senior adviser tried to set up back-channel communications with the Russians during the transition. But the timing of their meeting has raised questions given allegations by United States intelligence agencies that Russian Federation had worked to meddle in November's election to help Trump.
"He discussed opening a secret line of communications that could be monitored by Russian intelligence but not American intelligence", Don Beyer (D-Virginia) said in a statement, according to Politico.
