The attack took place at the entrance gate to the Mevo Dotan settlement in the northern West Bank.

The soldier was taken to the same hospital with a stab wound to his upper body.

Israel says the Palestinian leadership is inciting the violence.

The Palestinian assailant was also wounded and transported to the same hospital.

Ifniaat was then shot by other soldiers at the scene.

Israel blames the violence on "incitement by Palestinian leaders".
