Nadal storms into French Open third round

In the last of the first-round matches, outsider Renzo Olivo broke French hearts as he finished off an upset of 12th seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, winning 7-5, 6-4, 6-7 (8-6), 6-4 in a match stopped for darkness the night before in the fifth set.
It was all beginning to come together in 2016, with back-to-back Barcelona and Monte-Carlo titles-but then came that bolt from the blue at Roland Garros: withdrawal in the third round with more wrist problems.
The 36-year-old turned back the clock with a vintage display to set up a meeting with Belgium's Elise Mertens.

"I remember the beating that I had, he was playing very well and I was playing well too, but his level was very high", recalled Moya.

"I knew it was going to be a battle out there", said Muguruza, who beat Serena Williams in last year's final.
"I think she was playing so, so good for the first two sets", Muguruza said.

"I know I played good here before". The nine-time champion is bidding to win his first major since 2014 Roland Garros in Paris. Wawrinka entered with a 1-2 record against Dolgopolov, who is among five active players outside the top 80 who has a winning career record against Wawrinka (minimum three matches).
