Chelsea keen on Bakayoko, Matic may leave

Plenty of teams are making moves, and Chelsea have sold Asmir Begovic to Bournemouth.

Chelsea's Nemanja Matic could be following Jose Mourinho to Manchester United in the next couple of months.

Mourinho has left vice-chairman Ed Woodward a list of four priority players to sign this summer and it remains to be seen if Chelsea would let such a player leave, especially to their direct rivals.

Chelsea hope to sign Tiemoue Bakayoko in the next few weeks, in what is likely to be their first signing of the summer, the Independent has reported.

If so, the French worldwide will form an exciting partnership alongside compatriot N'Golo Kante in the middle of the park but Bakayoko's arrival will cast doubt over the future of Matic.

The French worldwide has been a key player in Monaco's season in which the French club clinched the Ligue 1 title and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.

United remain interest in Tottenham's Eric Dier, but Matic is considered to be a much more viable option.

Matic's potential departure and Bakayoko's arrival at Stamford Bridge will not happen immediately though.

Nemanja Matic to Manchester United?

Reports in France over recent hours confirm that Antonio Conte's new contract at Chelsea will have to be signed, sealed and delivered, before any new signings.

The report claims that United tried to bring Matic to Old Trafford last summer, but Chelsea manager Antonio Conte refused to sanction a transfer and instead managed to convince the Serbian Spiderbeast to stay and play a key role in the squad. The player is waiting for the extension of Conte.
